Native American Indian Commission

Young Brave Contest

October 10, 2019

The Annual Powwow is entering its 4th year. Held at Grand Park which was once the grounds of a Taangva Village. We expect over 1500 Angelenos to attend this years event. Featuring live music – dancers – food – arts and crafts vendors – and special recognition of Young Brave and Community Members who have made a difference in our community.

We have observed that there are less young men participating in Native American community programs, youth events and pow wows for many years.  This has caused concern in our communities, because as urban youth, they need the Native American community to nurture, support and teach teach them about our Native ways and their particular Nations.
