City of Los Angeles American Indian Heritage Month

The weekend of November 4th the City of Los Angeles kicked off Native American Heritage Month with traditional songs and dances of Indigenous peoples of America.

Many who attended on Friday, November 4th voiced to LA City Council the importance of replacing Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day. The message was received well and clear, as LA City Council will have Council member O’Farrell motion on the city agenda in the near future for an official vote.

On Saturday, November 5th, the City and County of Los Angeles celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Native American Indian Commission with a pow wow.
